Alderstone Water Company is locally owned. We install treatment in Louisville houses. We are not Louisville Water Company, the utility.
Most of this city drinks Ohio River water treated at the Crescent Hill plant. That plant sits in Crescent Hill itself — a short walk from Frankfort Avenue shops and the Clifton hillside. Highlands bungalows on Baxter and Bardstown, Germantown and Schnitzelburg shotguns, and Crescent Hill cottages are a different plumbing era than east-end infill. Same utility. Different pipes. Same three calls: film on glasses, chlorine in the shower, scale in the kettle.
City water is treated and regulated. This is not a warning page. People still want the shower to smell like water, glasses to dry clear, and coffee that does not taste like the pipe.
Three jobs, not one tank:
- Whole-home filter in Louisville — taste, odor, and sediment at every tap
- Water softener in Louisville — scale, spots, and soap
- Reverse osmosis in Louisville — kitchen drinking tap only
A filter will not clear the haze on a Highlands pint glass. A softener will not take the pool smell out of a Germantown shower. RO will not treat the upstairs bath in a Schnitzelburg cottage. We will not sell a one-tank story if the house needs two jobs.
