St. Matthews is a mid-century brick city wrapped around a retail crossroads. Lexington Road, Chenoweth Lane, Mall St. Matthews, and Dutchmans Lane are the four beats that actually locate a house here. Norbourne Estates, Fairmeade, and Beechwood Village are the residential fabric: brick ranches and two-stories from the boom after the 1937 flood and the 1950s, still on original laterals more often than not.

This is city water. The calls are older plumbing plus spots, and chlorine at the kitchen tap. Those are not the same job. Spots on chrome that has been in the wall since the Truman or Eisenhower years belong with softening. Chlorine you taste when you fill a pot on Chenoweth is a drinking-water or whole-home-filter question, depending on whether the shower bothers you too.

Chenoweth Square is walkable. The Vogue sits between Lexington Road and Frankfort Avenue. Those are pins, not water plants. The work is in the brick behind them. Cannons Lane is the western edge; Breckenridge is the cut-through. We will not treat a Norbourne ranch like a new East End build.

Alderstone Water Company is locally owned. We are not Louisville Water Company. City water is treated and regulated. You call because the brick house is showing its age at the tap.
